Dr. Pogorzelska-Maziarz is a trained Epidemiologist and Health Services Researcher. She is as an Associate Professor at the Jefferson College of Nursing where she is the Assistant Director of the Center for Infection Prevention and Antibiotic Stewardship. Additionally, she is also an Associate Professor at the Jefferson College of Population Health. Monika earned her Master of Public Health and her PhD in Epidemiology at Columbia University. Currently, she is a Multiple Principle Investigator of an AHRQ-funded study titled “Prevention of Infections Through Appropriate Staffing” and a Co-Investigator on an NIH-funded study titled “Infection Prevention in Home Health Care (InHOME) .” Monika has authored over 90 peer-reviewed manuscripts, book chapters and other publications. She currently serves as an Academic Editor at Plos One and a section editor of the American Journal of Infection Control. In addition, she serves on the Board of the Association of Professionals in Infection Control, Inc. (APIC).
