Janene Gumz-Pulaski, MBA, BSN, RN, CIC, LTC-CIP. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Valparaiso University, a Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and she has 31 years of experience as an infection preventionist. She maintains a CIC and CIP-LTC credentials from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology. Currently, Janene is contracted as the Indiana Department of Health Infection Prevention Program Manager. She has been a mentor for novice infection preventionists at the IDOH and to others throughout her career. She has served as a Board of Directors member, Emergency Preparedness Liaison, and Scholarship Committee Chair for APIC-Indiana. She was an Infection Preventionist and Executive Board member for the District 1 Hospital Emergency Planning Committee and an acute care facility’s Emergency Preparedness/Bioterrorism Coordinator. Janene received an Honorary Doctor of Medicine in 2007 while volunteering for a charitable organization in Honduras.
