Cindy has been an Infection Preventionist (IP) for ten years. She began her career as a Registered Nurse at Yale New Haven Hospital, spending most of her nursing tenure in the Medical Intensive Care Unit before transitioning to Infection Prevention. Cindy holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Salve Regina University and became board certified in Infection Prevention in 2019. Throughout her career, she has contributed to multiple hospital-acquired infection reduction initiatives, including CAUTI and CLABSI prevention, and helped establish new protocols for identifying high-risk tuberculosis exposures. Cindy is also an active member of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) at both the national and regional levels, as well as the Connecticut Hospital Association Infection Preventionist Committee.
