Steve began his healthcare career in the US Army as a Surgical Technician at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He was employed by the Greater Baltimore Medical Center where he held the roles of Surgical technician, OR Registered Nurse, OR Coordinator, and OR Charge Nurse. In 2004, Steve was asked to manage the Sterile Processing Department. He became certified as a CRCST, CHL, CIS, and CER in the field. He has held various roles with IAHCSMM/HSPA such as a member of the Membership Committee and Advocacy Committee, President, and now as Past President. Steve is a member of AAMI Working Group 40, and several sterilization/reprocessing focus groups associated with several vendor partners. He is an adjunct instructor with the Community College of Baltimore County where he teaches the IAHCSMM CRCST course. Steve holds a Bachelors Degree in Psycholog, and is currently the Sterile Processing Manager at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore.
