Dr. John Boyce is the President of J.M. Boyce Consulting, LLC, a position he assumed after retiring from his positions as Director of Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Control at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and as Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine. He previously served as president of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA). He has 35 years of experience as an infectious diseases consultant and hospital epidemiologist. Dr. Boyce was lead co-author of the CDC Guideline for Hand Hygiene in Healthcare Settings and assisted in development of the WHO Hand Hygiene Guidelines for Healthcare. He has published multiple articles dealing with hand hygiene, and has experience in developing and implementing programs to reduce surgical site infections and catheter-related bloodstream infections.
