Vydia Nankoosingh, MLT, CIC is an Infection Preventionist for Diversey Healthcare in North America. In this role, Vydia serves as an infection prevention and control resource and an industry liaison to support the improvement of environmental hygiene solutions and adoption of science-based best practices.
Vydia started as a general medical laboratory technologist with 11 years of experience working in microbiology. She became an Infection Preventionist in 2001 working predominantly in acute care but also gained experience in the rehabilitation and long term care settings.
Vydia was a member of the Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee (PIDAC) where infection prevention and control best practice guidelines are developed for the province of Ontario. She was the manager of Infection Prevention and Control at Scarborough Health Network, a large community hospital in Toronto, Ontario for 13 years.
She is certified by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology.
