Amanda Bennett is an infection prevention advisor for the Patient Safety Authority (PSA) serving as a resource for Pennsylvania facilities through education, development and monitoring of infection prevention initiatives and has a background in infection prevention, laboratory science, education, and regulatory standards. Amanda's previous roles include, molecular pathology medical laboratory scientist, point-of-care coordinator, and infection preventionist. She developed a novel assay to detect human metapneumovirus, collaborated to decrease inappropriate testing and treatment of C.difficile, and led educational projects to implement clinical workflow changes.
Amanda received a BS in health science from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and completed an internship at Pennsylvania Hospital School of Medical Laboratory Science. Bennett earned her MPH with a focus in infection control from the University of South Florida. She is board certified in infection control and epidemiology (CIC) and medical laboratory science (MLS) and is a member of APIC.
