Dr. Trini Mathew is an infectious diseases specialist and a hospital Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at Corewell Health Taylor in Michigan. She trained at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, affiliated with Harvard Medical School, Boston, and obtained her Master of Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health. She is also an associate professor at the Oakland University William Beaumont (OUWB) School of Medicine and Wayne State University School of Medicine.
Her research interests include preventing health care associated infections with integration of human factors engineering, reducing the risk of outbreaks, advancing One Health, and improving vaccine uptake. She has given lectures on infectious diseases and infection prevention locally, regionally, and internationally, and has volunteered in IDSA’s and SHEA’s DEI committees. She is actively involved in supporting diversity, equity and inclusion in healthcare settings and received the 2024 OUWB faculty award for Excellence in Diversity.
