Cortní Rice, BSN, RN, CIC, LSSGB, is the Lead Infection Preventionist at JPS Health Network. With over 14 years of healthcare experience, she brings a diverse nursing background that includes Acute and Ambulatory Care, Emergency Services, Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Orthopedics, Progressive Care, Quality, and Infection Prevention. In her current role, Cortní provides infection prevention education to nurses and residents across the network. She oversees adherence to best practices for high-level disinfection protocols for ultrasound probes. Cortní collaborates with various departments, including Radiology, Environmental Services, Supply Chain/Purchasing, Nutritional Services, Textiles Processing, and Emergency and Trauma Services, to facilitate process improvement initiatives. She also performs surgical site surveillance and investigations for colon surgeries. Cortní holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is board-certified in Infection Control (CIC).
