Erin Villanueva, MPH, CIC, is a dedicated Infection Preventionist currently with the Cleveland Clinic. She collaborates with a diverse range of partners within the organization, including Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Patient Food Services, and Emergency Preparedness. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic, she was with the Cleveland Department of Public Health. As a Registered Environmental Health Specialist, she was responsible for inspecting food service locations, teaching food safety courses, and served as an epidemiologist for disease surveillance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from Capital University and a Master’s in Public Health from George Washington University. Her unique blend of experience in public health, education, and biochemistry enables her to contribute significantly to the safety of patients, visitors, and healthcare workers at the Cleveland Clinic. During her leisure time, she supports Cleveland sports, loves roller coasters, and exploring the great outdoors with her two dogs.
