Jackie graduated from Louisiana University at Monroe in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She began her nursing career in the Operating Room and quickly moved into management. In 1989 she moved to Houston to work as an OR Educator. She has clinical experience in every surgical specialty and is considered an expert by all who work with her. She taught in the Surgery Tech Program at Houston Community College Coleman Campus for 5 years and returned to Houston Methodist Hospital in 2002 as a staff nurse until 2011 when she served as the Clinical Educator for all staff levels in the Dunn 3 Operating Room. In May of 2024, she transitioned to another track, Perioperative Quality Leader in the Dunn 3 Operating Room. In this role, she works with Infection Control 20 hours a week.
