Nkchi Onyeka is a dedicated Infection Preventionist with a strong background in Emergency Nursing at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children's Hospital of NJ. With a Masters of Public Health (MPH) degree, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN-RN), and Board Certification of Infectiion Control (CIC), Nkechi is an IP education specialist, who concentrate on central line maintenance, focuses on reducing Hospital -Acquired Infection (HAIs) through evidence-based practice and education. Nkechi is major player in initative Strategies for Reducing Central Line Bloodstream Infections: A Comprehensive Review of Best Practices and Outcomes, team member in Sustaining Hospital Acquired Clostridium difficile infection reduction and Hand hygiene Performance improvement initiatives. . Nkechi also serves as a Team Lead for candida auris prevention efforts, coordinating multidisciplinary team to tackle this emerging multidrug-resistant pathogen through developing protocols for early detection, containment, prevention of outbreaks and reporting of cases to the New Jersey Department of Health. With 12 years of experience in emergency nursing Nkechi has honed their ability to respond to high-pressured situation and implement infection control practices in fast-paced environments.
