Sandy is an experienced Infection Prevention Specialist with over 20 years in healthcare. She currently leads infection control efforts at Mercy Hospital Springfield in Springfield, Missouri, focusing on patient safety, compliance, outbreak management, antimicrobial stewardship, and reduction hospital-acquired infections. Sandy has worked in various healthcare settings and is certified in Infection Control (CIC). Holding a nursing degree from Southeast Missouri State University, she is committed to staying current on industry developments and adapting protocols to emerging infectious threats.
Outside of professional work, Sandy enjoys being a Grammy, service in the community/church, and having her nose in a book.
