Priscilla Sanchez, MBA-HCA a first year Infection Preventionist at Driscoll Children's Hospital in the Rio Grande Valley. A 26 year old who was born and raised in McAllen, TX. From a young age, Priscilla was drawn to science and the healthcare field which led her to pursue her Bachelors of Science in Biology at The University of Texas- Rio Grande Valley and her Masters of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Administration.
Priscilla has dedicated her career in Public Health in the Rio Grande Valley for over 4 years, exclusively in Hidalgo County. She started her career with the Hidalgo County Health Department during the COVID-19 pandemic servicing in mass immunization clinics, contact tracing, and educational presentations. She then evolved to her Epidemiologist role at the Hidalgo County Health Deparment where she lead infectious disease investigations, Influenza programs, and specialized in Vaccine Preventable Diseases. During her Epidemiology career, Priscilla discovered her interest with infection control and prevention. She found herself intrigued by how diseases spread and the various measures that could be taken to stop outbreaks, especially in vulnerable populations like children. Priscilla's remarkable journey in Public Health has created opportunities to enhance infection control measures at the Rio Grande Valley's designated children's hospital.
