Erika received her Master's in Public Health with an emphasis in Epidemiology from Grand Valley State University in 2019. Erika began her career in Infection Prevention as an intern for Trinity Health Grand Rapids. She then joined Corewell Health Grand Rapids as an Ambulatory Infection Preventionist in 2020 and transitioned to the Acute Care side in 2022. She is a leader of the Regional Emerging Special Pathogen Treatment Center (RESTPC) at Corewell Health West and serves as the primary infection prevention contact. For this role, Erika serves on the National Emerging Special Pathogen Training and Education Center (NETEC)'s Infection Prevention Workgroup as well as the Epic Braintrust Infection Prevention Workgroup. Erika is also the leader of Clostridioides difficile Expert Improvement Team as well as a leader in construction and facilities. She initiated the transition to American Society for Healthcare Engineering's Infection Control Risk Assessment 2.0 process across Corewell Health. Additionally, Erika covers Nutrition Services, Emergency Department, Medical-Surgical Units, Neuroscience Units, Pharmacy, Radiology, and Inpatient Rehabilitation.
