Diana Cervantes, MS, DrPH, CLS(MB), CPH, CIC is an Assistant Professor and Program Director of the MPH Epidemiology Program at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Cervantes has over 17 years experience in public health practice and infection control. She has worked at health departments at the county and state levels responding to several outbreaks including the 2014 Ebola response in Dallas, TX. Dr. Cervantes has also worked providing infection prevention and control support in both hosptial and nursing home settings. Dr. Cervantes teaches courses in infectious disease epidemiology, evidence-based medicine, and public health surveillance. Her research interests include applied epidemiology, infectious disease prevention and control measures, outbreak characterization and management, healthcare-associated conditions and patient safety, and infectious disease epidemiology in the geriatric population.
