Jonathan Schouest, MPH, CIC is currently the Area Manager of Infection Prevention and Control for St. Joseph Health System of Sonoma County which includes two acute care hospitals and many outpatient services. Jonathan recieved his Bachelors degree in Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics from UCLA and his Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the Unviersity of Arizona. Jonathan has conducted malaria research in East Africa, collaborated with Mexican public health authroities to perform infectious disease surveillance amongst migrants along the US-Mexico border, and has focused on the increasing value of clinical epidemiology and informatics in the practice of Infection Prevention and performance improvement of healthcare organizations. Jonathans current initiatives with St. Joseph Health include the county wide implementation of an electronic hand hygiene surveillance system and innovative solutions of C. Difficile management.
