Missy Travis, MSN, RN, CIC, FAPIC, is the founder of IP&C Consulting, LLC, where she helps Infection Preventionists, healthcare facilities, business leaders, and product developers build effective infection prevention programs. With over 20 years of experience, Missy has worked in diverse settings including acute care hospitals, university medical centers, inpatient rehabilitation, behavioral health, long-term care, public health, and professional sports.
She is a two-time past president of the Middle Tennessee APIC Chapter and has served in numerous leadership roles, including the Board of Directors. Missy has presented nationally through scientific posters and public health grants and developed educational programs such as the IP Mentor course series. She regularly hosts webinars and workshops to support infection prevention education.
Missy holds degrees from Vanderbilt University, the University of Kentucky, and Georgetown College. She has been CIC-certified since 2003 and was named a Fellow of APIC (FAPIC) in 2024.
