Patti G. Grota PhD, CNS-M-S, CIC, FAPIC is an infection prevention professional with over 30 years of experience in academia and diverse practice settings including acute, ambulatory, and long-term care. Currently, she teaches at Schreiner University, Kerrville, Texas and the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, Texas. Her specialty areas are gerontology, infection prevention, and implementation science. She also consults with the community on infection prevention and control issues.
Dr. Grota has served the Association of Infection Prevention and Control (APIC) both nationally and locally. She has numerous national presentations and publications. Dr. Grota was the Clinical Editor of the 2014 Edition of the APIC Text (hard copy) and served as chairperson of the APIC Text On-line Editorial Panel from 2014-2018. She also co-edited the APIC/JCR Infection Prevention and Control Workbook, 4th Edition. Currently, she is a member of the 2023-2025 APIC Annual Conference Committee.
