Dr. Jane Powell, DNP, RN, CIC, CPHQ, has over 17 years of experience in healthcare leadership and infection control. A former U.S. Air Force Captain and Aerospace Medicine Commander, she has led teams in an array of operational environments. Jane earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Pennsylvania State University, a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership from Walden University, a post-master’s Certificate in Nursing Education, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. She is currently pursuing an MBA at Rice University. As Director of Infection Control at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Jane leads the Infection Control and the High-Level Disinfection and Sterilization departments. She has also held leadership roles at HCA Houston Healthcare, Catholic Healthcare Initiatives, and Johns Hopkins Medicine. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband and daughter, watching movies, and taking walks with the family bullmastiff.
