Heather Ridge is a passionate and driven Infection Prevention leader with over 25 years of healthcare experience, with 17 of those years as an Infection Preventionist. She obtained her Bachelor of Science, Major in Biology, Microbiology concentration in 1998, Associate Degree of Nursing in 2004, Bachelor of Science Nursing in 2007, and is currently completing her Master of Public Health. Her experience ranges from acute care, long-term care, outpatient, hospice, and consulting. She is currently the System Infection Prevention Outpatient Manager for Novant Health, Inc. located in North Carolina with oversight of over 700 outpatient clinics and ambulatory surgical centers. Heather is an active member and volunteer in both APIC National and her state APIC North Carolina chapter. Currently, she is Chair of the APIC Communications Committee and serves as Co-Chair of the APIC Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) taskforce.
