I am an infectious disease physician-scientist and tenured Professor of Medicine at The Ohio State University (OSU), College of Medicine, Internal Medicine Department, and Infectious Disease Division. I am also the Director of OSU Global One Health initiative (GOHi) Implementation Science and Research. My clinical area of specialty is tuberculosis and antimicrobial resistance.
Currently, I am leading several projects in Ethiopia as part of OSU GOHi, including Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funded Global Action in Healthcare Network-Antimicrobial Resistance (GAIHN-AR) in Ethiopia. We are strengthening infection prevention and control (IPC) practices and microbiology laboratory capacities for identification, detection, and drug susceptibility testing of multidrug-resistant organism.
