Leila Nahavandi graduated from Texas A&M University in 2008 with her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and then pursued her Master of Public Health in Environmental Health and Safety graduating from Texas A&M Health Science Center in 2010. She began her Infection Preventionist (IP) career in 2010 when she joined Infection Prevention and Management Associates in Houston, Texas at a long-term care hospital. Since then, she has worked as an IP in other states across the nation including North Carolina and Wisconsin serving in acute care and ambulatory care settings. Leila is now back in Houston working at the University of Texas at MD Anderson Cancer Center which is an academic oncology institution. Leila serves as the IP for several outpatient clinics and service anxillary departments such as materials management, transportation and food & nutrition. She is also a member of the Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI) Committee.
