Janina-Marie Huss, formerly Janina-Marie Tatar, is an experienced infection preventionist with over 15 years in healthcare. Currently pursuing her EdD in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California, her dissertation focuses on healthcare worker hand hygiene compliance in psychiatric settings. She has held various roles, including Infection Prevention Consultant at APIC Consulting Services and Director of Infection Prevention at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital. Janina-Marie's newest role is Infection Prevention Officer at WVU Medicine, a health system with 26 hospitals.
Janina-Marie is passionate about education, serving as a Site Preceptor for the Master of Public Health program at the University of Pittsburgh. Her work includes numerous publications and presentations on infection control strategies, earning her several awards, including the UPMC Award for Commitment and Excellence in Service. Outside of work, she actively volunteers in community health initiatives, reinforcing her commitment to enhancing patient safety and health equity.
