Sentara
Newport News, Virginia
Krista is a Surveillance Infection Preventionist. She has been with Sentara since 2016. She earned her BS in Biology from Virginia Tech in 2004 and is currently pursuing her MHA. She started her career in healthcare as a volunteer EMT and has since then worked in research and development, as an Emergency Department Technician, in quality assurance and regulatory affairs in pharmaceutical manufacturing and as a Clinical Infection Preventionist before transitioning to her current role in 2025. Krista’s favorite aspect of being an IP is that no two days are the same and there is always something new to learn. She enjoys spending time with her family and participating in running events in her free time.
