Kathleen (Kate) Henschel, MPH, CIC is an epidemiologist and infection preventionist with Community Health System in Fresno, CA. She started her career as a communicable disease epidemiologist with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and later transitioned to the role of state HAI/AR coordinator. After relocating to California, she began working as an infection preventionist and epidemiologist at a large hospital system. Her professional interests include emerging infectious diseases, multi-drug resistant organisms, and translating hospital-level and local/regional data into a usable format that can be shared and understood from the bedside to the C-suite. Outside of work, Kate enjoys traveling, cooking vegetarian dishes, and canning fruit and vegetables from the garden.
