Michelle Nation has been an Infection Preventionist since 2014. Nursing was a 2nd career field, and Infection Prevention was perfect for bringing her background in microbiology and project management into her nursing career. She earned a BS in Microbiology from Mississippi University for Women, a BS in Nursing from Creighton University, and a Masters in Healthcare Informatics Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Since joining the HAI/AR team in April 2022 as an Infection Prevention Specialist, she has been involved in helping all types of healthcare facilities with their infection prevention programs and participates on the Dialysis team and Drug Diversion team. She is a member of Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) member and a committee member for the International Health Facility Diversion Association (IHFDA).
