Manager of Infection Prevention

Uzoamaka Obiekwe is the Manager of Infection Prevention and Control at Lifebridge Health: Sinai Hospital and Grace Medical Center and has over twelve years of healthcare experience. What she most enjoys about being an Infection Preventionist is performing surveillance on hospital associated infections, data analysis and visualization.
Uzoamaka graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences. She then went to graduate with a Masters in Public Health from The George Washington University. While completing her Masters, she worked as a Disease Intervention Specialist at the Prince George’s County Health Department.
She is currently serving her second term as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force Co-Chair. When she is not working she enjoys tending to her backyard garden, playing spades, and shooting at the range.
