Denise Phillips, BS, CIC, CLSSYB currently serves as an Infection Preventionist at Memorial Hermann – The Woodlands Medical Center in Houston, TX. She received her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Psychology from Mississippi State University. She is certified in Infection Control (CIC) and a Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (CLSSYB).
Denise has eight years of experience in healthcare with four years of experience in infection control. She started her career working in outpatient rehabilitation services before tranistiong to inpatient rehabilitation services. She pivoted her career to infection control during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Denise has extensive experience in high level disinfection (HLD) and environment of care (EOC). Her involvement in process improvement projects has helped mitigate hospital acquired infections (HAI) on her campus.
