Shaye Beville, MSN, RN, CIC , has over 15 years of experience in healthcare administration and nursing, with the past decade dedicated to Prisma Health. With a background in trauma and infectious disease , she transitioned into infection prevention in 2019. She holds a Master’s degree in nursing education and Certification in Infection Control. Recognized as a leader in CLABSI prevention, blood culture contamination reduction, and biopreparedness, Shaye plays a key role in strengthening infection prevention efforts across the hospital system.
Her expertise has been featured in Current Infectious Disease Reports, where she was the first author of the 2021 literature review, “Reducing Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections by Reducing Central Line Days.” She was also highlighted in APIC’s 2023 IPC Collaboration Series, “Eyes on the Hot Zone: Novel Diseases Drive Collaborative Efforts.” Her current work focuses on standardizing processes and improving competency and compliance in blood culture collection to drive down contamination rates.
Shaye’s dedication to infection prevention earned her the 2024 SC APIC Palmetto Infection Preventionist of the Year award. She is proud to advance infection prevention alongside her exceptional colleagues at Prisma Health.
