Rachel Watson, MBA, MPH, LSSGB, CIC is the system director of Infection Prevention for the Methodist Health System based in Dallas, Texas.
Rachel currently serves as the APIC-DFW chair of the Community Standards of Practice Special Interest Group (CSOP-SIG) and longstanding member of the Government Affairs Committee (GAC). She has previously held various national and local APIC chapter positions across her years of service. Rachel is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and serves on the North Texas ACHE Education Committee.
Prior to a career in healthcare, Rachel worked for the American Red Cross and spent several years in the political publishing industry in DC.
Rachel was born and raised in West Virginia. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology degree and a Master of Public Health degree from West Virginia University, and an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from the Southern Methodist University. Rachel is Board Certified in Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC) and holds a green belt in Lean Six Sigma.
When off-duty, Rachel enjoys spending time exploring new places alongside her husband, Nick, and son, Kipling.
