Infection Preventionist

Adrienne Chestang, MPH, HACP-IC, is an Infection Preventionist at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital (MHTW). She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Prairie View A&M University and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from UT Health Science Center at Houston, where she focused her capstone research on gestational diabetes and health equity. With a strong foundation in chemistry and public health, Adrienne played a critical role in the health department’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic by collaborating with local physicians and conducting contact tracing.
In 2022, Adrienne accepted the Infection Preventionist role at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital. During her tenure at Katy, she earned her HACP-IC certification and is actively pursuing CIC certification. She also obtained her Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification, leading a team to implement process improvements that resulted in increased hand hygiene compliance across the hospital. Additionally, Adrienne contributed to multiple construction projects, successfully facilitating the opening of two new units at the Katy hospital.
In 2023, she transitioned to Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital, assuming the role of Women’s and Children’s Service Line Infection Preventionist. To further her expertise, she was accepted into the Texas Hospital Association CIC Prep Course Winter 2025 cohort to support her CIC studies. In her current role, Adrienne serves on multiple committees dedicated to standardizing cesarean bundle elements, reducing surgical site infections, and providing evidence-based research to enhance infection control guidelines. She was also recently selected to participate in the 2025-2026 Leadership Development Academy at MHTW, where she will refine her leadership skills and further establish herself as an infection control champion.
Adrienne currently resides in Spring, Texas, and enjoys traveling, karaoke, and taking walks with her dog, Lincoln.
