Director Infection Prevention
Truvian Healthcare System
Andrea Lynn Cromer, Director Infection Prevention, Vitruvian Healthcare. I've been in healthcare for 40 years. I have an associate degree in medical laboratory science, a bachelor's degree in nursing and a master’s in public health. I have participated in APIC at both the state and national level. The first part of my career was in the medical laboratory, the rest has almost exclusively been in Infection Prevention. I've been a part of IP in all aspects of acute care, either as a resource/consultant or as an onsite Infection Preventionist. I truly love our profession, and have from the beginning. I have always loved a good puzzle and this career has given me plenty of those to work on throughout the years. Currently my love is research and process improvement and what better field to foster that challenge than Infection Prevention?
On a personal side, my home is South Carolina, though I currently live in Georgia. I have been in a new IP position in a new facility in a new state for a little over a year now. Yes, it has been a year of change! I've been married for almost 40 years and have two amazing adult children.
