Infection Preventionist

Joana Maria L. Clere, MPH, CIC is the Infection Preventionist at PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center. She leads and oversees the implementation of infection prevention mesures in diverse healthcare settings, including ambulatory, critical acute care hospital, long-term care, home health and hospice, across Ketchikan and Prince of Wales regions. Her extensive training in preventing the spread of diseases, practicing standard precuations, understanding disease processess and epidemiology, educating staff/patients and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professional has equipped her with exceptional skills to implemet patient safety initiatives. Additionally, she is a zealous advocate for health equity and an accomplished researcher in her field. In her free time, she enjoys trailrunning and can always find her on the mountains and trails.
