Senior Regional Director, Infection Prevention
Kaiser Permanente Northern California
Elk Grove, California
I have been an infection prevention practitioner since 2008. I started as an IP coordinator; became a manager; and now a regional IP program manager supporting 21 hospitals in the Kaiser system. I have been a registered nurse since 1998 and my background is in cardiac critical care and clinical research nursing. I received an MPH degree from UC Davis in California in 2007. I am a board-certified infection preventionist or CIC. As a regional program manager, I led the creation and development of centralized surveillance unit consisting of infection prevention practitioners who are responsible for performing the surveillance of HAI data for 21 hospitals in the system to meet state and CMS' HAI reporting mandates. I helped developed work flows, procedures and agreements to build the team and work structure. The team have been in existence now since October 2014 and is perceived as a successful model.
I do not have any relevant financial / non-financial relationships with any proprietary interests.
