Session Description: Few things cause more stress for an Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) leader than preparing for planned and/or unplanned regulatory survey events. This interactive workshop will shed light on the continuous regulatory readiness process, including:
• Presentations by regulatory experts and surveyors from various organizations.
• Interactive discussion and skill-building opportunities for participants to enhance survey readiness to confidently lead their facility through regulatory events.

Attendees will be able to share their areas of concern in a collegial environment and reflect on effective strategies. This program will be of interest to Infection Preventionists from across the continuum of care, including acute care, long-term care, and ambulatory settings, a growing area of vulnerability for many organizations. This workshop will also benefit surveyors who want to deepen their understanding of contemporary infection prevention challenges.

  • Describe current and emerging regulatory trends related to Infection Prevention & Control.
  • Identify common gaps a surveyor may find in the environment of care.
  • Learn communication strategies to use with surveyors during and after a visit.
