Session Description: Survey Says! Come join us in this interactive session as we go through common myths, facts and fiction around infection prevention in our own lives. Who among us has eaten food that has fallen on the floor? How bad is it, really? We know we should wash our hands after using the bathroom, but how many of us actually do? Any animal lover will know it is hard to say no to cuddles with our furry friends, but what does science say about it? To share or not to share that snack with a friend? We will review these questions and a few other common behaviors, first taking audience polling and then going through the answers with published literature to determine if they are fact or fiction.

List diseases that can be contracted via sharing food and drinks.
Describe novel methods to prevent disease transmission while enjoying fun activities.
Name at least three zoonotic diseases that can be contracted from household cats and dogs.
